The Sacred Heart University women's swimming and diving team was honored as a CSCAA Division I Scholar All-America Team. In the Fall 2017 semester, the 26 student-athletes on the swimming and diving team combined for a 3.45 GPA.
"This is arguably the top honor for our student-athletes to receive each semester," said Pioneer head coach John Spadafina. "Excellence in the classroom is a hallmark of our program and I am proud to lead this group of dedicated and hardworking student-athletes."
The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America announced 688 teams in the Fall 2017 semester. To earn the honor, teams were required to post a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the Fall Semester. The team grade point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.
The Pioneers are 6-7 in dual meet action this season and conclude that portion of their schedule on Saturday, traveling to NEC for St. Francis Brooklyn.
