PENNSAUKEN TOWNSHIP, N.J. - The Sacred Heart University rowing team completed its season Sunday at the MAAC Championship. The Pioneers finished in ninth-place in the team standings, tallying seven points.
Following the championship, the All-MAAC teams were announced. Senior Danielle Varley garnered All-MAAC Second Team Honors.
FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Sacred Heart rowing team had 16 student-athletes named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic Team on Friday afternoon. The Pioneers 16 members was tied for the second-most with Fairfield, trailing Manhattan’s conference-high 19 honorees.
To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.

Multiple myeloma is the second most common blood cancer and currently there is no cure. Fairfield rowing decided to host the event to raise both awareness and funds for multiple myeloma research.
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — The Sacred Heart University women's rowing team took part in the Navy Day Regatta, where the Pioneers competed against local powerhouses Drexel, Temple, Penn, St. Joseph’s, Navy and Delaware on Saturday afternoon. The Novice Eight team led SHU to its highest finish of the day, with an 11th place finish.
