Full Game Notes

Setting the Scene... The Pioneers, having the worst start to Northeast Conference play in program history, take on the red hot Red Flash Saturday in a rare morning game at 11:30 a.m. in the DeGol Arena in Loretto, Penn. Saint Francis U is undefeated (4-0) after the first two weekends of conference play, and after the overtime loss to Central Connecticut State on Monday night, the Sacred Heart Women's Basketball Team is just 1-3 against conference opponents. The game will be televised live on ESPN3.

Then, on February 25, on "Senior Day" after a minor delay sue to a power outage due to strong winds in Connecticut, Sacred Heart edged out the Red Flash 66-61. Washington came up big again with the team-leading 25 points, while now-graduated Callan Taylor recorded a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Bad Start... With the loss to Central Connecticut State on Monday night, the defending Northeast Conference Champions drop to 1-3 in conference play. In the 13 years since joining the NEC, the Pioneers have never started conference play 1-3. This season, they dropped the conference-opener 56-47 to St. Francis Brooklyn ending their 15-game home winning streak. The loss was also only the second time SHU had fell in a conference opener. The only other time was on December 13, 2003 when they lost at Wagner 72-62.
