Pioneers Host Colgate Raiders in Saturday Matinee

Setting the Scene... The Pioneers host the Colgate Raiders Saturday afternoon in the William H. Pitt Center. SHU is looking to rebound from a tough 74-70 loss to Seattle in the championship game of the Washington Dental Thanksgiving Tournament. Seattle University used a late 11-4 run and held off a Sacred Heart rally in the closing seconds to come away with the win. Morgan Merriman and Gabrielle Washington were named to the All- Tournament team for strong offensive performances. The Raiders come into Saturday's game having lost their last two games, falling to Drexel 51-33 in the consolation round of the LIU Turkey Classic and UCONN 101-41.

Series Notes... Saturday marks the fourth meeting between the Pioneers and Colgate.
- Sacred Heart leads the series 2-1
- The Pioneers have won the last match ups
- Last season was the first time the teams met as Division I members

SHU Against the Patriot League... Sacred Heart is 11-13 all-time against Patriot League opponents.
- The Pioneers won their only game against the Patriot League last year, topping 
Lehigh 68-51 at home in the William H. Pitt Center
- SHU has face Colgate (2-1), Army (1-4), Bucknell (1-2), Holy Cross (0-1), Lafayette (4-1) and Lehigh (3-4). They have never played American and Navy.
